Penonome Wind Turbines are Here

The first delivery of the Penonome Wind Farm turbines arrived this week.

Developed by Union Eolica Panameña, the Panamanian subsidiary of Spain’s Unión Eólica, the 220MW project is the first of its kind in Panama and will be the largest in all of Central America. Goldwind, China’s largest wind-turbine maker, is supplying 25 percent of the equipment.

Construction started in September of last year, and the 2.5MW Permanent Magnet Direct Drive turbines will be installed mid-June. The farm is expected to begin operations early next year.
